Anyone else experiencing SI joint pain or have in the past? This is my second pregnancy and I never felt it this bad (and especially not this early) last time! It’s getting hard to walk by the end of the day, hard to pick up my one year old or even simple household tasks like dishes or laundry. Only 22 weeks, really dreading the rest of this pregnancy.
Using an SI hip belt every day and in PT, but anyone have any other recommendations?? Or just solidarity.

I have, would 100% recommend going to a chiropractor who has experience in pregnant women. It helped me sooo much and the pain has been gone for months now

I get this terribly when pregnant. I lay on a lacrosse ball between my bump and hip and try really hard to relax into it.

A good chiro!!! Mine was so bad and by the 3rd chiro she fixed it, now I’m great!

Second time around here and it’s just as bad as last time. But I have found a lot of relief from one of those exercise balls that you sit on. And some very (very) basic yoga moves like cat cow and chair pose also seem to help. Also having a good physio is so helpful. Good luck

What is your PT doing?
I spray ancient minerals magnesium oil there at night. I've found that massaging at the top of my glute, just under the bone helps the most. I massage vertically in 2in motions. My fascia is really tight down there, which causes the SI pain. Once I release that, I can immediately stretch further.

@ThatsSoKaren,
mostly having me do very light glute and core strengthening. Some breathing stretches, some pelvic floor/core strengthening as well. Haven’t been back since it’s been hard to walk, so maybe they will have different suggestions now too.

I’m having bad SI joint pain on my left side. Yesterday, could barely walk….until I foam rolled my left glute. Felt significantly better. That’s my only advice to self treat at home….foam roll & see if it helps

I had it bad with my first and weirdly not much at all with this one, my second. SI belt, physical therapy and asking what meds you can take for inflammation will help. Taking it easy and learning how to get your hips back in alignment with physical therapy was the best for me. I also used the over the shoulder belly support bands which helped a lot. It does get better sending you hugs!

I have SI joint issues at times during pregnancy and my chiropractor has always been able to help with that.
