The PSA Puretech engine is a good engine if well maintained, but because it uses a wet cambelt system it is particularly sensitive in respect of engine oil. Inadequate oil changes or using the wrong viscosity of oil can cause the belt to fail, low oil pressure, oil starvation and turbocharger issues. There is always a possibility of engine problems even with correct maintenance, but a well-serviced car is much less likely to encounter problems.
The same issues apply to both turbocharged and naturally aspirated versions of this engine, but of course the latter has one less component to go wrong.
